Our lovely DK Lonk Natural Yarn
Introducing our new and improved yarn - a tale of quality from Yorkshire!
When it comes to a craft project, we know the yarn we choose makes all the difference to the finished project. Thats why we wanted to share with you the news about our new Lonk yarn - just back from the mill down the road. We have been working with Zoe (The Woolist) and with the mill to bring you a much refined product this year.
Crafted in Yorkshire.
After the skilled graders at British Wool select the finest parts of the fleece, the next step is scouring and milling. Using the skills of the spinners at Europa, and with lots of review and discussions, we have had this years yarn spun slightly thicker than last year, and with a much softer handle and finish. For the tech specs - its been spun to 2/9mm, 4/9mm and 5/9mm. That means its a traditional 4-ply jumper weight or fingering weight, a nice DK or worsted, and a lovely cosy Aran. The 4ply has a generous 450 mm per 100g hank, and is versatile enough to go through a standard gauge knitting machine. The DK comes in at 225m per 100g, and the Aran at 180m per 100g hank.

What sets it apart is its lovely soft handle. We listened to the feedback and worked diligently to bring you a yarn with a much more luxurious touch, whilst retaining the hard wearing properties of the Lonk as a long wearing yarn. Its a testament to all our work and the dedication of the team to craft the best possible yarn for your creative endeavours.
